Summary of what happened
In my experience with Maple Holidays Ceylon / Maple Holiday Ceylon in Kandy, Sri Lanka, I was told the trip and visa process were straightforward, but after payment the story kept changing, the visa was delayed, and a refund was promised even though the money was never returned. It was 2 months of hell having to communicate with them and keep getting false promises. I was also repeatedly reassured by Mohamed Ihthysham and the company that the refund would be sent shortly, but the communication became excuse after excuse instead of a proper resolution. To me, the director acted like a professional liar who would promise you the earth but never deliver, which is why I am publishing this Maple Holidays Ceylon scam awareness page to warn other travelers and preserve the records I kept. I also came across 2 other travellers who got scammed by them, and people can see their Google review as well. Do not get fooled by their many fake reviews on Google and Tripadvisor. They clearly know how to optimise their social media to fool people.
